day1:
on my first day I was put into a room with children from ages 1 1/2 and 3. I really enjoyed this room, to start the day off we talked about the plan for the day and to talk about the weather, we then sang songs and read stories, we then did painting.
I then had to go to the kitchen to get the children's lunches and clean up after them.
the children were exited to have a new person in the class but also shy.
day2:
I was in the preschool room with 4 years, this was my favourite room as they were a little bit older, we went to the libary for a puppet show, I had to put name tags on their children and get their coats, we walked to the liabry and then we went to the playground after. I really liked this room as the children were very chatty and were able to talk.
day3:
this day I was in the baby room, this was my least favourite room as the babies couldn't talk , we sang nursery rhymes with actions to test their flexibility and to make sure they wont have any problems as they get older.
I learned that babies with older siblings were more interactive. while the babies went for naps, I went to laminate sheets for the classrooms which I really enjoyed. after that we went outside for fresh air which all children have to do everyday.
day4:
this day I was in the 3-4 age group I loved this room as I was busy the whole day, I was put to work straight away, I had to make Halloween pictures with the children and I then had to organise the children's folders of work. I then played and painted with the kids, the children then had lunch which I had to get and clean up after, we then went outside and I helped them put their coats on.
day5:
I was put into the toddlers room the same room as day 1, I liked this day more than the first as the children knew me, we played and did jigsaws and building blocks, and had a Halloween party the children dressed up for it.
reflection;
I really enjoyed my week here but I don't think I will like it as a full time job, as it was really repeative, but it will be a career I will keep in mind.
I expected it to be a lot easier but its very hands on.
I learned every child is different.
I saw a different side to myself I was more playful and really got on with the kids and staff.
